FYI Re: Playseum and Religion

I knew the Playseum had a religious bent from the statements on their website, but I was impressed by how subtly they incorporated it into the exhibits when I was there and found the owner, who I chatted with for awhile, quite pleasant and religion didn't come up at all. However, I was glad to know the more negative stuff that folks circulated on DC Urban Mom's, so I thought I'd pass the link to the discussion along. Of course, it is typical DC Urban Moms - very inflammatory and annoying. I hate that forum sometimes!

Looks like there was some discussion about this on the DC Urban Moms list: http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/84403.page(PLAYSEUM Bethesda - religious slant). Beth

  1. What's nice about this area is that there are many indoor playspaces around: GKV in DTSS, Interactions, GKV in Columbia, Brookside Nature Ctr, community ctrs, Aviation Museum in College Park, Port Discovery and MD Science Ctr in Bmore, etc. etc.

We liked Playseum and will likely go back as Evan really liked the animals. But having GKV so close with much more open space to run is more appealing. Plus, I would have to ask for my $$ back if I was approached about Jesus. I don't mind paying for access to a fun play area where I can monitor my kid and relax, but don't need to hear about Jesus when I am doing so.
