Hi Moms,
I saw the below email posted on our listserv last week and again on the SSMoms listserv this week. It was the phrase "our son" that caught my eye and thought as a parent, the least I could do is get swabbed to potentially help someone's son (or husband, or father, etc. etc.)
I plan to go to Rockville on Sunday afternoon sometime after TotGroup to get swabbed. If anyone else is interested / available to join in, I would be happy to carpool!
URGENT APPEAL: Please come this Sunday, July 26, 2009 to the JCC of Greater Washington, 6125 Montrose Rd., Rockville, Md., 10:00am - 4:00pm and register to be a bone marrow donor. This is an emergency. Our son, Jonathan, is in urgent need of a bone marrow transplant, and there are currently NO matches on the international registry. Potential donors must be between the ages of 18 - 55 and in good general health to register. We need a large turn out in order to find the one perfect match that can save his life. Jonathan, is of European Jewish descent, and there is a higher likelihood that his match will have the same ethnicity, but it can be anyone. The test is a simple swab of the cheek. SWAB A CHEEK = SAVE A LIFE. Thank you for your kind assistance, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Haupt. “To save one life is as if you have saved the world.” — the Talmud
