Playing after 11 am today?

We had to cancel our outing for today, but I've got a kid who still needs to get out and play. Would anyone's kids be up for doing something after 11 am? Playground, playdate at our house or yours (you could drop off if you'd like), or something else that is active?

I realize this is short notice, but I'm hoping some of you will be able to make it. It looks like our bathroom renovation will actually be done tomorrow, so we'd like to celebrate by having people over for an early dinner on Saturday. The weather looks good, too. I'm thinking 4ish to 7ish. Let me know if you can make it! (Am I worried that I'm tempting fate by sending out this invite, and I'll get home and the contractor will tell me about some catastrophe that means the bathroom won't be ready for 2 more weeks? Yes, but there's always the basement bathroom!)

can anyone host Gunnar for a playdate in about an hour.  I need to take Kurt to a birthday party and my previous plans for G fell through.  It would be about 2 hours, and I will reciprocate at a later date of your choosing!

this was a highlight of a recent camping trip my friend donna (familiar to some of you by yoga fame) and i took with our kiddos.  we are looking to recreate the fun on sunday with a bigger group.  anyone one free on sunday morning?

Fall Soccer

Soccer season is fast approaching.

Yes I know it's only July, but soccer leagues are already charging late fees for the Fall season!

I just registered Sebastian for MSI Soccer. 1st grade rec league.  http://www.msisoccer.org/

There is a weekday practice (usually Wednesdays, but TBD at this point) and a weekend game (usually Saturdays).

Just wanted to share in case you wanted to coordinate the boys schedules...

Head count for July 4th weekend

It's that time of year when the Halwanis break out the inflatable pool/slide (and turn our yard into a giant mud pit.) 

The 4th of July falls on a Friday this year. We are thinking we could host either that Friday, since most of us have off or Saturday the 5th.

Will anyone be around that weekend or are you heading out of town?

Takoma Soccer!

Hi guys - I registered G and K for spring soccer - Takomasoccer.org - on Sundays.  K in the 4 year olds and G in the kindergarten divisions.  If you decide to do it too, please put G or K's names in the "prefer to be on a team with" slots.  I'm sure they would love a neighborhood buddy on their team, especially K.  This is his first foray into organized sports.  Jessie

This Saturday's Dance Party is FREE for all Singer families, and no tickets are required for admission.  

Kids must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.  

Don't forget to come dressed in your favorite groovy 60's outfit for a chance to win a prize in our costume contest!

spring weekend soccer plans?

Hi everyone,
I was wondering what people's plans were for soccer this spring. I know a few of you did Takoma Park in the fall and liked it -- though to me it seems too far! Ryan definitely wants to do soccer (he keeps telling me, don't forget to sign me up!), and even if the after-school class works out, I'll still sign him up for something on the weekends.

And as an aside to Heather, I keep forgetting to mention, I signed Ryan up for the same swim and soccer weeks at the Y as Basa.

down at sligo in an hour - about 12:30 - if anyone is interested in running around with us for a bit!

2nd Annual Stew Party - Feb.1st

Please join us on Saturday, February 1st at 4:30 pm, for our second annual stew party.  We will probably downsize a bit this year and just do one meat and one veggie stew, plus an entree and some veggies for the kids.  If folks can help us round out the menu with an appetizer, dessert or drinks, that would be great.

Hey everyone - just wanted to pass along Sebastian's Summer Camp schedule if anyone wants to buddy up. I finished registering him this morning and I am SO glad this is off my plate!!

                June 30-July 11th:   KAH      Day Camp at Flora Singer ("weeks 3 and 4")

  July 14-18 and July 21-25th:  YMCA    Soccer Camp ("week 5 and 6")

               July 28-August 8th:   KAH      Day Camp at Flora Singer  ("weeks 7 and 8")


As an FYI - full payment is not due now on any of these - just a deposit.
