Sounds like there are enough people in town, that a playdate might be in order?  How about brunch and play  at Gunnar and Kurt's house the morning after Christmas?  The usual 10ish?  Brunchy snacks and child and adult beverages!  Let me know if you can make it.  Also, I know that a certain couple is going to be in NYC, but please pass the invite along to Grandma ;)

Chanukah party!

Summer Camp at Flora Singer

Hi Playgroup!

I'm wondering how many of you are intersted in the summer camp for the boys at Flora Singer this summer?  We'd like Sebastian to get used to the new environment before serious school business starts in the fall. I'm sure he'd love to see some familiar faces :)

I just talked to Bob Sickles, the owner of Kids After Care. They have not yet secured the camp at Flora Singer, but he has confidence that they will be there. So they will open registration in February for new Kindergarteners. I think you can also register for before/after care for the school year at the same time.

Hey folks - I've lost track of who said they would be able to join us for stew at 4 pm on Sunday.  Can you let me know when you get a chance?  Looks like it will be a beautiful day, so hopefully the kids can play outside for awhile before dinner.

Kids Camps at Liberty Mountain

Hi Playgroup!   Last winter Sebastian and I started ski lessons and really enjoyed ourselves.

We booked him for an all day ski camp on Saturday December 15th.  He asked if any of his friends will be there, so I said I'd ask if anyone was interested.

We aslo booked a hotel room for the same night to possibly get more skiing in on Sunday morning.

The average class size for camps is 4-7 children per instructor.  Included is: Two 2-hour class lessons (one at 10am and one at 1pm), snacks, lunch at 12pm, a 9am-5pm lift and rental, and 3pm parent/child ski time or indoor supervision.

Bonus - they have child care if you want to ski and have another little one.

Saturday Afternoon/Evening Playgroup

Hey everyone, we wanted to know if folks could join us this Saturday for an all-family (that means dads) late afternoon/evening playgroup get together.  I was thinking 4:30 to whenever.  We'll have something very basic for dinner around 5:30 or 6, drinks, etc.

Impromtu Mom's Night Out - Tonight

I was supposed to go to this marriage equality fundraiser in our neighborhood tonight, only I just realized it's not tonight, but next Saturday night.  My life is so pathetic that this opportunity to sip some wine and hang with just adults was something I was really looking forward to, and now I'm sitting here in a cute sundress and not thrilled about staying home.  If anyone else is around and doesn't mind ditching their family to go out tonight, please let me know.  I was thinking we could meet somewhere at 8 pm - maybe the Royal Mile, since it's close to the hood.  If you are interested, let me know by 7:30, since that's when we'll be ordering take out if I end up staying home.

Sunday am at our house

Hi everyone,
it seems like it's been awhile since we've done a traditional Sunday morning group -- anyone up for coming over this Sunday at 10am?  We'll set up the wading pool and maybe a sprinkler.  And though the renovation is not done (sigh), we're happy to show how close we are to being finished.  Let me know if you think you'll make it.

Saturday, July 21 -- Playgroup BBQ at Kenmont?? =)

It has been a long while since we've hosted.  Since Seth's party at the pool was a hit and Heather is hosting a water-themed party in the afternoon on July 14th, I thought we would follow the smart leads and offer to host the NEXT Saturday, July 21st at 3:30p (post naps).   Summer means more water theme fun, so we would love to do it at Kenmont Pool (near Wheaton Mall), if folks are interested.  It has a playground, kiddie pool, big pool and grills.  Let me know if you are in and I can share more details!  Cheers.

Seth is turning 5!

Can you believe it? We can't! Seth would love it if his play group friends could join him for a swimming/Star Wars party at the Silver Spring YMCA on Saturday, June 30 at 10:00. The Y will provide the pool. We'll provide the food. And we're depending on you to provide the friends! Please let us know if you can come and we will make sure to have a waiver for your kids at the front desk of the Y.

Memorial weekend Sunday pm picnic at our house

Hi all,
the last time we hosted anything was President's Day weekend -- so it's beyond time!  We may still have construction equipment in the backyard, and we'll certainly have the dead grass where all the insulation panels and other stuff lay for weeks, but we are hoping you can ignore that and come for a Memorial Day picnic.  About 4:30 next Sunday, Memorial Day weekend.  Please let me know if you think you'll make it.

NEXT Sunday at 1130a (May 6th)

Hi all.  It has been a while since we've hosted.  We can't do it this wkend, but can host NEXT Sunday (May 6th) beginning at 1130am.  (Saturday night, we will be out to dinner and would love to lounge in the morning as late as we can so are pushing the start time back a bit).  Come join us for lunch -- we'll likely grill dogs and veggie burgers.  Let us know if you can make it so we have enough dogs/v-burgers. soccer follow up

Hey folks - I don't know how to "reply" to a posting, so here' s my reply to Shawn re: soccer this Spring. We are going to sign Solomon up for the Excite Soccer - 2.5-4 yr olds again. He is very excited about the idea of it, so I'm hoping his participation will improve over last year. The more friends the better!

I see Excite will be at 915a on Saturdays and Brit Am will be at 1045am on Sundays at Getty. We've done Excite several seasons and enjoy it, but would like Evan to actually scrimmage a bit which they do not seem to do much. We are considering Brit Am to see how that goes. Any thoughts from the group on what they are considering?

playgroup possibilities for this weekend

Hey folks, Solomon and I would like to host playgroup this weekend, but we are a bit constrained in terms of our normal meet time because of our current weekend class schedule - we get out of gymnastics at 10 on Saturday and have ballet at noon on Sunday. Solomon is officially no longer napping, so we could do an afternoon get-together (a late afternoon/dinner thing won't work this weekend). Would anyone be able to do something at 2 pm on Sat or Sun, or are the sibling naps going to interfere? We could just make it a big kid get-together I suppose. I'd also be open to meeting folks somewhere (indoors, it will be cold this weekend) around 10:30 on Saturday, if anyone had any suggestions.

Anyway, if this doesn't work, we'll host a dinner get-together another weekend.

This SATURDAY -- Pre-SuperBowl Playgroup

Hi All,

I KNOW Sunday is the SuperBowl and I for one can NOT wait for all the action-packed commercials. =)

We wanted to host playgroup on Saturday evening: a Pizza party and our first annual Forest Glen Bowl. Kids vs. parents, or girls vs. boys, or Brisbane vs. the rest of us -- However we play, this could be a fun way to play some "football" with our kids.

I recommend 430p for about 45 mins of running around throwing the ball and then downstairs for more playtime and dinner.

Let me know if you are available and IN. If folks overwhelmingly prefer Sunday at the regular time, we can switch to that, but I thought an afternoon / evening playgroup would be fun.
