Another Indoor Activity Place
Jon, Evan and I headed over to the College Park Aviation Museum, and surprise-surprise, Evan LOVED it. He highly recommends it to the other tots in the group. $4/adult, free for under 2. Lots of planes, fun activities for kids, and even the oppty to see planes landing on the airstrip behind the museum. We went on Sun and it was practically empty. I imagine with the weather getting nicer, it may stay that way, but always good for a rainy day.

Fantastic indoor activity
Hi all,
I wanted to tell you about this fabulous place I took Judah on my day off yesterday. I'm a HUGE fan of this place, and, more importantly, so is Judah. It's called Interactions Learn and Play and it's an indoor play area for toddlers. It's *amazing*!! It has fantastic toys, including stuff to climb on, puzzles, musical instruments, you name it - something for everyone. The folks who run it have done a brilliant job, and it's just perfect for little guys like ours. I swear they're not paying me for this advertisement. Anyway, here's a link to a review of it on the blog "A Parent in Silver Spring." http://www.aparentinsilverspring.com/2009/02/interactions-learn-and-play-in.html
And by the way, they offer a 25% discount for mom's groups with 6 or more moms. So if we all wanted to go over there together some time, we'd get a discount.
Hope you all are well.

This Sunday
Just wanted to share our address since this is our first time hosting. Its 1705 Brisbane. I'm pretty sure this is a cat tolerant crowd, since you've been to Shawn's, but if not, please let me know since we have four! Hopefully it will be nice enough that we can be on the back porch in case anyone does have allergies.
On the dad front, I think its a great idea but the next two weekends will be tough for us because we won't be able to arrange care for Solomon's brother. After that, we'll be free, so let's pick a date! I think an outdoor gathering is a great idea.

Smithsonian Kite Festival - this Saturday!

If any one is looking for something to do this weekend, it's the opening of the Cherry Blossom Festival and the Smithsonian Kite Festival.
I don't know how much our little ones would get out of the opening ceremony, but I think they'd totally be entertained by the kites.
The Kite Festival is at the Washington Monument. Here is the website: http://kitefestival.org/

Mentioning Daddies...
Hurrah to Otto for breaking into the inner circle. However, for some reason, he really did not pipe in on pregnancy discussions. =)
I very much enjoy tot group in part b/c of hanging out with cool Moms. And, now that the weather is nicer and our kids are getting more active, I expect Dads will be even more involved in park outings, etc. etc. It would be nice for the guys to at least get to all meet each other so they can enjoy hanging out with cool Dads. I propose in the next few weeks, once the weather is consistently warmer, that we consider a Tot Group get together of Mommies, Daddies, Tots and Siblings. One idea -- we (or anyone who wants) can host. Or, if more appropriate to let older and younger kids have more room to play, we can meet at one of the parks.
Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?
See you all Sunday at Emily and Seth's.

Sunday, March 21
Thanks to everyone who so willingly welcomed Seth and his dad this weekend. I don't know if I've missed any posts or messages but wanted to say that Seth and I can definitely host this weekend. How about Sunday, March 21, from 10 to noon? Enjoy your week!
We're at 1606 Brisbane.

The Ides of March?
Are folks available this Sunday, 10ish? I prefer the morning, and it seems to be when the most people are available, but we have been going strong at 11, so morning nappers who wake up around that time should come on over! 1613 Brisbane St. New moms and new babies are of course super welcome!

a new member
Thanks so much for continuing to allow Solomon and me to pop in and out so sporadically. While we will again be out of town this coming weekend, we have no trips planned after that so we hope to be able to come more regularly, and even to host! As such a sporadic member, I feel sheepish asking to invite another participant, but somehow I never got my nextdoor neighbor Becky, on the list when this all first started (she was part of the informal baby group that Shawn, Michelle and I had last year). Her son, Ben, is 5 weeks younger than Solomon, which means he just turned one a few weeks ago. He is walking though, and he and Solomon are very cute together (and, in fact, according to Judah, they resemble each other, since rumor has it he went up to Ben at the playground yesterday and said, "Solly!"). If it is okay to invite her to join, her email address is: rcobbler@gmail.com. Let me know before you do and I will give her a heads up to expect the Blogspot invitation.
And, thanks for doing this Heather, its very impressive!

Hey Moms,
I thought I'd create this blog, hoping it would make coordinating Sunday play groups easier. I'm new to this blog stuff, still trying to figure out the details. I'm pretty sure I set everyone up with "author" permissions. Also, if you want, you can set it up so that you receive an email whenever a new post is saved. Let me know if you want that.
I'm excited about this site because we can share photos, videos, etc. I took a bunch on Sunday and hope to find some time to post them later today.
